An integrated production chain
The Vila-seca II (Tarragona) factory is the leading PVC producer in Spain, with a capacity of 200,000 t/year. The production process of the EDC/VCM/PVC chain starts with chlorine, which is supplied by Ercros' Vila-seca I factory. The location of the center and the logistics facilities available allow the reception of external EDC and VCM for the manufacture of PVC.
The activity of the Ercros plastics factories is integrated: thus, the PVC resin produced in Vila-seca II is supplied to the composites center located in Monzón.
The factory has a workforce of around 160 people. This centre, together with those of Tarragona and Vila-seca I, form the Tarragona industrial complex, which is also integrated in the chlorine derivatives division of Ercros.

A bit of history
Start of the activity, under the ownership of Aiscondel, S.A., with the launch of a direct chlorination plant.
The PVC plant comes into operation, followed a year later by the VCM plant.
Integration of Aiscondel, S.A. into the Aragonesas Group.
Expansion of PVC production capacity with a third polymerisation reactor and a drying line.
Expansion of PVC production capacity by means of a new polymerisation reactor and a new drying line.
Launch of a steam and power cogeneration plant that substantially improves the centre's competitive position.
Launch of the fourth reactor and a new drying line.
With the acquisition of the Aragonesas Group, the Vila-seca II factory is integrated into the Ercros chlorine derivatives division.
Expansion of PVC production capacity.
