What is it used for?
Pentaerythritol is the primary polyol manufactured by Ercros, produced using the company’s own proprietary technology.
Ercros offers pentaerythritol that is ISCC PLUS certified, as it is manufactured from renewable sources.
This product is primarily used for:
- In the production of alkyd resins—which are, in turn, used to manufacture standard, fire-retardant, and intumescent paints—these resins serve the decorative, automotive, and construction industries. Alkyd resins produced from pentaerythritol possess properties far superior to those made with glycerin: they dry faster and offer greater hardness, as well as better color and gloss stability.
- In the production of synthetic lubricants, stabilizers for PVC, and explosives for civil use.
- In the preparation of rosin resin esters for the adhesives industry.
Paints made with pentaerythritol provide better finishes for cars.
